A hands-on morning in a working pottery studio, where kids make real ceramic pieces that get glazed and fired.
- Real techniques: kids learn pinch, slab and coil building, then decorate their pieces. In summer the wheel was only offered on full weeks
- Ages 5 to 15, no experience needed
- Pieces come later: work has to dry and be fired, so it is collected from the studio after the casal
- Studio dog: Paco, a calm dog, is part of the team. Tell the studio about allergies or fears
About
Recrea is a ceramics studio at Carrer de Balmes 417-421 in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. It teaches kids' classes all year and has run casals in summer and at Christmas. Its Christmas casal (Casal de Nadal de ceràmica) last ran in 2025-26 for ages 5 to 15, on December 22 to 24, December 29 to 31 and January 2. The studio has not posted a 2026-27 edition yet, and last Christmas's price and hours are no longer online. For a sense of the format, the summer 2026 casal ran 10:00 to 13:00, could be booked by the single class (€35) or by the week (€130), and included clay, glazes and firings, with 3 to 15 children per teacher. Kids brought their own snack. Dates shown are from 2025-26. New dates usually appear in mid-November.
