What you need to know

The Zoo casal for kids who want to know what a zookeeper does all day, in the quiet week between Christmas and New Year.

Block or single day: in 2025-26 you could book the three days of December 29 to 31, the single day of January 2, or both
Morning or full day: pickup at 13:00, or stay for lunch and afternoon games and workshops until 16:30. Drop-off is from 8:50 at the Zoo's Parc de la Ciutadella entrance
Places are limited and sign-up is online. It asks for a child photo, health card, vaccination record and a parent's ID, so have scans ready
Language: the Zoo does not say which language its educators use, so ask when you book if that matters to you

About

This Barcelona Zoo casal puts kids in the zookeepers' shoes. It shows that looking after animals is more than cleaning and feeding: kids learn to observe the animals and see how enclosures, daily care and enrichment keep them well and help protect their species. Last year it ran as a three-day block plus a separate single day. The 2026-27 edition is usually announced around November 20.
