FC Barcelona's grassroots football school, run at the Joan Gamper training complex in Sant Joan Despí using the same methodology and playing style as the club's academy. It is a season-long commitment: players train twice a week and play Sunday-afternoon matches in an internal league from September to June. Places are not open enrollment, so children sit level tests and registration is limited to Catalonia residents.
RCD Espanyol's grassroots football school, open to boys and girls with no entry trial. Players train two hours a week and play a league match on Saturday mornings, in small teams of up to 12 that slot into an internal league with promotion and relegation. Training is at the club's Ciutat Esportiva in Sant Adrià de Besòs, and membership comes with first-team tickets.
The youth academy of UE Sant Andreu, a club founded in 1909, runs more than 40 teams and over 600 boys and girls from age 5 through the cadet years. Training and matches are based at the Camp Municipal Narcís Sala on Carrer de Santa Coloma, with squads grouped by age from escoleta up to juvenil.
Founded in Gràcia in 1907, CE Europa runs the Escola CE Europa, a grassroots football school for boys and girls aged 4 to 14. It is a relaxed first step into the sport rather than a high-pressure academy. Children train twice a week in late-afternoon sessions at the Nou Sardenya stadium or the nearby l'Àliga pitch, then play internal matches at Nou Sardenya on Saturday mornings.
A century-old members' club on Sant Sebastià beach with direct access to the sand and four pools, one heated and open all year, plus a dedicated learn-to-swim pool. Courses run from parent-and-baby water classes through to competitive swimming and water polo squads. There are also padel courts, a gym, a spa and a summer sports camp.
Club Natació Catalunya, founded in 1931, sits on the hillside just above Parc Güell. The heated 25 m outdoor pool stays open all year, covered with thermal blankets in winter, alongside an indoor lap pool, a teaching pool, a warm baby pool, padel, squash and frontón courts, a gym, and a sauna. Most activities require membership or course enrollment.
The city's municipal sailing school sits on the Port Olímpic marina, built for the 1992 Olympic sailing events. Kids learn dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding from qualified instructors, working up through the small Laser Pico and RS Zest boats. Summer Campus Olímpia weeks rotate eight water activities plus snorkeling and English, and there are year-round courses and children's parties.
Barcelona Bosc Urbà is an aerial adventure park under the giant solar canopy at Parc del Fòrum. Two harnessed rope circuits run five meters up: 14 family challenges with barrel tunnels, wobbly bridges and zip lines, plus 15 tougher sports challenges. A netted high-altitude trampoline zone and a food truck with monitor-led kids' games complete the park.
