This weekend’s highlights:

  • The Big One: We’re heading north for the International Circus Festival. It’s a bit of a trek to Girona, but absolutely worth the drive in this sunshine!

  • Maritime Magic: A beautiful theatrical exhibit at the Maritime Museum celebrating some truly remarkable women.

  • Comic Books: Enjoy a hands-on workshop at MNAC to help kids channel their inner artists.

Whatever you choose, we hope you have a beautiful weekend soaking up the city.

The Rabbit Hole:

Did you know the oldest magic shop in the world is tucked away right in El Born? Founded in 1881, El Rei de la MΓ gia is where the original owner staged his "final disappearance" on the Spanish equivalent of April Fools' Day. It’s so hauntingly authentic that it served as a blueprint for Harry Potter’s Ollivanders and was once saved from closure when local poets literally "passed the hat" to keep the lights on. Today, you can catch world-champion magicians or book the same "secret" private shows that Leonardo DiCaprio slipped into town for recently (they even have sleight-of-hand workshops for kids 7+).
