Save Saturday for indoors: a 75% chance of rain is landing squarely on Mar 14, making it the perfect excuse to dive into the FLIC Festival, the 16th edition of Barcelona's beloved children's and young adult literature fest at Disseny Hub. Workshops, read-alouds, and creative installations await.

The rest of the weekend is looking up, Friday and Sunday are wide open for getting outside. Here are the highlights:
Run & Donate: Race for a cause in Sitges with WWF, kids choose an endangered animal, run 3km, and earn a custom animal t-shirt. Adults run 5km. The whole family goes home having actually made a difference.
The Sound Machine: Pep Gol's giant 4-meter keyboard at the Museu de la Música turns everyday objects, voices, and nature sounds into live music. Irresistible for curious kids.
IMAGINA2: Barcelona's only all-female magician duo — Niñas del Mago — mix illusions, mime, and clown in an intimate, up-close show with a feminist twist.
Whether you're sheltering with a good book at Disseny Hub or heading to the coast for Sunday sun, there's a great weekend in there for every family.

The Rabbit Hole
Somewhere above the city, half-hidden by pine trees and unmarked on most tourist maps, there's a ruin that locals have quietly claimed as their own. Bunkers del Carmel — a crumbling anti-aircraft battery from the Spanish Civil War — sits on one of the highest points in Barcelona, with 360° views so complete it feels like the city laid itself out just for you. No ticket booth, no crowds, no guided tour telling you where to look. Just wind, wildflowers, and the whole of Barcelona stretching to the sea. Drop down through the park to Mühlberg Bridge to extend the adventure, pack a picnic, and let the kids roam the ruins like they discovered them themselves.
