AE Teaching is a group of native English-speaking tutors that has worked with international-school families in Barcelona since 2011. Most of the group are IB program tutors for students at schools like the American School, Benjamin Franklin, the British School and Oak House: Math at every level, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, History, English and English Literature, plus the Extended Essay, Internal Assessments and Theory of Knowledge. They also prepare students for the SAT, ACT, GCSE and iGCSE, offer homework support for younger children, and have English and Spanish teachers within the group. Lessons are one-to-one on a fixed weekly slot: at your home anywhere in the city of Barcelona, at your child's school where the campus allows it, at a tutor's home office, or online. You message Ernie on WhatsApp with the subject, the hours you want and when your child is free; he talks to the teachers and usually has everything arranged within two or three days, with the tutor's CV, a proposed schedule and the price sent to you to approve before anything starts.

It depends on the subject, the teacher, the location and the hours. The lowest rates are around €35 to €39 per hour with taxes included. Specialist IB subjects, for example Higher Level Physics in person, can be €60 per hour or more. You get the exact price to approve before the first lesson, and you are billed at the end of each month for the hours taught.
