What you need to know
A Christmas casal spent with horses and ponies, without leaving the city.
- Municipal riding school: set up in 1992 to make riding open to every family, with qualified riding instructors.
- Wide age range: last year it was listed for ages 4 to 16. Ask the school which group your child would join.
- Runs into January: last year it included days from January 2 to 7, when many casals have already finished.
About
The Escola Municipal d'Hípica La Foixarda is Barcelona's municipal riding school, open since 1992 on Montjuïc, with stables, horses, ponies and outdoor arenas. At Christmas it runs a riding casal for children and teenagers. The school posts the details on Instagram (@hipicalafoixarda), so this year's hours and price are not known yet. To ask or sign up, call 935 970 663 on weekday evenings or email hipicalafoixardabcn@gmail.com.
