What you need to know
A hands-on morning in a working pottery studio, where kids make real ceramic pieces that get glazed and fired.
- Real techniques: kids learn pinch, slab and coil building, then decorate their pieces. In summer the wheel was only offered on full weeks
- Ages 5 to 15, no experience needed
- Pieces come later: work has to dry and be fired, so it is collected from the studio after the casal
- Studio dog: Paco, a calm dog, is part of the team. Tell the studio about allergies or fears
About
Recrea is a ceramics studio at Carrer de Balmes 417-421 in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi that teaches kids' classes all year. Last Christmas's price and hours are no longer online. For a sense of the format, the summer 2026 casal ran 10:00 to 13:00, cost €35 a class or €130 a week, and included clay, glazes and firings. Kids brought their own snack. New dates usually appear in mid-November.
