Question 1

Is this worth going to if my kids are under 5?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but pick your days carefully. The parades and fire runs (correfocs) are genuinely loud and chaotic, so stick to the daytime workshops and kids' activities instead of the evening events. Bring a stroller because you'll be walking the neighborhood streets for hours, and there's no contained venue to retreat to if your toddler gets overwhelmed.

Question 2

Is the correfoc safe to watch with kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you keep your distance and dress for it. There's a dedicated kids' correfoc on Saturday July 25 from 7 to 8:30pm before the adult one. The devils spray sparks on purpose, so wear cotton or other natural fibers (synthetics melt), long sleeves and long pants, closed shoes, and a hat or hood to keep embers off. Little kids usually watch from the back of the crowd or a balcony along the route rather than in the thick of it.

Question 3

Will my 8-year-old enjoy it?

Accepted Answer

Most do. The giant parades, correfocs, and fireworks are exciting to watch, and the daytime workshops give them something to do rather than just stand around. The one caveat is crowds and noise: if yours gets anxious in either, skip the peak evening hours after 8pm and come for the afternoon instead.
