How messy does this actually get?

It's chocolate with a piping bag, so expect some mess, but it's contained. Kids work at tables with molds and bags, not free-form painting. The real mess is the tasting at the end, which is just eating chocolate. Wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit of cocoa powder on, but it's not a "change of clothes" situation.

Is 1 hour enough time, or will my kid get frustrated?

One hour is tight but doable. There's a 10-15 minute explanation about cocoa and chocolate-making first, then maybe 30-40 minutes of actual creating. Younger kids (3-5) will be fine with that pace; older kids might want more time to perfect their design. If your child gets bored easily or needs a lot of hand-holding, this could feel rushed.

Do we have to do the museum visit, or can we skip it?

Accepted Answer

The free entry is included, so you're not paying extra, but you don't have to use it. You can do the workshop and leave, or come back another day to see the museum. The museum itself is small and takes about 45 minutes to an hour, so it's realistic to do both in one visit if your kids aren't tired.

What's the nearest metro stop, and is parking a nightmare?

It's in Sant Pere, near Jaume I metro (line 4), about a 5-minute walk from the station. Street parking in that neighborhood is scarce on weekends, so metro is your best bet.
