These are places a 13 to 17 year old will want to go, not the usual little-kid list. Indoor Karting Barcelona puts drivers aged 14 and up (and at least 1.50 m tall) in the adult petrol karts. Climbat La Foixarda sells a €9 day pass for ages 13 to 17, though an adult has to stay with them. At JumpYard, over-12s can jump without a parent, and for a bigger day out, PortAventura's Shambhala takes riders from 1.40 m.

A live escape room set in a moody, early-1900s mansion: a young heiress has been murdered and her spirit is trapped inside, and your team has 60 minutes to crack the puzzles and set her free. It takes large parties, up to about 21 players at once, and runs in Catalan, Spanish, English and French, so non-Spanish-speaking families can play in their own language.
