Does my child need their own climbing gear?

No. Climbing shoes, a harness, and a helmet can all be rented at reception.

How do we get there by public transport?

Metro L1 or L3 to Plaça Espanya, then a 10 to 15 minute walk, or bus lines 13, 23, or 150.

Can we visit casually, or is it only the school?

Yes. Day passes let you climb as a family without enrolling in the school. Under-18s need an accompanying adult who signs a responsibility form and stays during the session.

Do they run birthday parties or holiday camps?

Yes. Birthday packages start at €150 for 10 kids, and there are climbing camps at Easter, in summer (the Campus Olímpia), and at Christmas, plus days-without-school programs.

What you need to know

The climbing school is a weekly commitment, an extraescolar you sign up for by trimester or year
A parents' school too, with its own weekly classes so you can learn alongside your child
Or drop in on a day pass to the indoor bouldering hall, a shaded escape from the midday sun

About

Climbat La Foixarda is a 2,000 m² municipal climbing center on the Montjuïc hillside, built into a converted old sports hall by the Foixarda tunnel. Kids climb roped routes, boulders, and auto-belays, and the climbing school runs as a weekly extraescolar: a children's track for ages 4 to 13 and a youth track to 18, grouped by age and ability.
