Question 1

How long should we plan to stay?

Accepted Answer

If you're coming for the peak days, a full day works well. You can catch the morning gatherings and parades, grab lunch, then stick around for the evening fire shows. If your kids are younger or you want a more relaxed pace, pick one of those two days and do 4-5 hours instead of the whole day.

Question 2

Is there food beyond the new food truck area?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Vilanova i la Geltrú is a proper town with restaurants and cafes throughout, so you're not trapped eating only festival food. The new picnic zone with food trucks is nice if you want to stay beachside, but you can easily walk into town for a proper meal if that's your style.

Question 3

Will my 4-year-old enjoy the castells and correfocs?

Accepted Answer

The correfocs have kid-friendly versions, so that's doable. The castells are impressive to watch but more interesting to older kids who understand what's happening. At 4, your child might get bored standing around waiting for them to build, so plan to dip in and out rather than camp out for the whole thing.

Question 4

How do we get there from Barcelona?

Accepted Answer

It's about 45 minutes by car south along the coast, or you can take the train from Barcelona Sants to Vilanova i la Geltrú in roughly an hour. The train is easier if you don't want to deal with parking during the festival.
