Our tips: we think the best location to watch as a family is S'Abanell (pinned below). It should be less busy, and the kids can dig in the sand until the 10:30pm start. If your crew is small or noise-shy, go Thursday or Monday and give the weekend nights a miss.

What you need to know

  • Five nights to pick from, the Thursday opener and Monday closer are calmest with kids
  • Claim your sand by 9:30pm, the kids play by the water while you hold the spot
  • Ear protection for under-5s, the bay carries every boom
