No. The sessions are free, and most are open the whole time slot, so you can walk in and leave when you like. A few run as set sessions you can only join at the start; the activity page says which.

Which Sunday sessions suit young kids?

Good picks: drawing real or imaginary pets at EINA in Sarrià (you can bring your pet), collage planets and stars at the Fundació Joan Miró, comics with real objects at the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya, and the Vampirtist portrait game at MACBA.

Which Saturday sessions work for kids?

Try the cubist collage self-portrait at Centre Cívic el Coll - La Bruguera, the hanging tissue-paper garden at the Museu Picasso, or reimagining design objects with odd drawing tools at the Museu del Disseny. The last two run on Sunday too.

What you need to know

Drop in, no booking: most sessions let you come and go, so you can hop between two nearby venues in one outing
Check each session's audience: the program tags every activity "all ages", "family" or "young people and adults", and some (like the comic relay) are aimed at teens
Free sessions inside big museums like the Picasso, MACBA and the Miró, an easy first visit with a pencil in hand

About

Barcelona Dibuixa is the city's yearly drawing festival, now in its 17th edition. For one weekend, more than 40 museums, libraries and civic centers host sessions led by working illustrators and comic artists: collage, comics, self-portraits, giant shared drawings. No drawing skill needed. Most sessions are drop-in, so you can string two or three together, and many build one big group piece that kids add to alongside adults.
