Are the 2026 rinks confirmed?

Not yet. The Christmas rinks usually open in late November and close around Three Kings Day, January 6. The pins show 2025 dates and prices and get updated as the malls, the Port and Tibidabo announce 2026. FC Barcelona's rink is open all year.

In 2025 La Maquinista sold tickets online by time slot, while L'Illa sold them only at the rink's ticket booth. At Westfield Glòries, morning roller sessions needed booking and afternoons were walk-in. FC Barcelona sells its tickets online.

What should kids wear?

Gloves are compulsory at La Maquinista and L'Illa; L'Illa charged €2 for a pair if you forgot yours. Long sleeves and long pants help with falls. At Glòries, kids under 6 must skate with an adult.

Are the rinks indoors?

The Christmas rinks are outdoors, and Glòries' roller rink closes when it rains. FC Barcelona's Pista de Gel is the indoor, year-round option.

La Maquinista and FC Barcelona are real ice. The Port Vell and Tibidabo rinks are synthetic panels, which are slower. Sources disagree on L'Illa's rink, so check before you go if it matters to you.

Barcelona has no frozen ponds, so skating here means the rinks that pop up for Christmas, usually from late November to early January. The biggest is on the outdoor parking lot at Westfield La Maquinista, the largest real-ice rink in the city, with a Christmas market and a giant slide next to it. Smaller ones appear in the gardens behind L'Illa Diagonal, among the Christmas stalls at Port Vell and up at the Tibidabo amusement park. Some rinks are real ice and some are synthetic panels, which feel slower underfoot. For skating any time of year, FC Barcelona's new rink in Les Corts has public sessions.
