It depends on the activity. A lot run free and first-come, first-served, so you can just turn up and wander in. But the popular ones, especially the circus workshops on the Night of Circus and Play, fill up and need advance booking, so reserve those on the CaixaForum website before you go. Wednesday evenings in early July tend to be quieter than late July if you have a choice.

What if my kid gets bored halfway through?

The activities are spread across several spaces, so you can move between performances and workshops instead of sitting through one long show. If your kid isn't feeling the concert, you can wander over to the sensory activities or grab a snack and come back. It's built to be flexible, not a sit-still kind of evening.

CaixaForum has a cafe, but it's not a full restaurant and gets busy during events. Bring snacks and water, especially for younger kids who'll need something to munch on between activities. There are more food options down by Plaça d'Espanya if you want a proper meal before or after.

How do we get there with kids?

Take the metro to Espanya (L1, L3, L8 or FGC), then it's about a 5-minute walk to CaixaForum at the foot of Montjuïc, just past the Magic Fountain. No funicular or hill climb needed. If you drive, the BSM Rius i Taulet car park is right next to the venue and runs about 2-3 euros per hour.
