How do I know which version to pick for my kid's age?

It depends on the tunnel slot you book. Slots from 10am to 4pm get the gentle HAUNTED level, which the organizers recommend from age 2. Slots from 5pm get the SCREAM level, recommended from age 7. Under-7s can still go to an evening slot with a parent. If your kid spooks easily, book a morning or early afternoon slot.

Will the lights and noise be too much for a sensitive kid?

Possibly. The organizers say the show uses strobe lights, loud sound effects and smoke machines. There is also a cheaper ticket without the tunnels that still gets you the decorated village, the 30 characters, the shows and the scavenger hunt, and you can add the tunnels once you are inside.

Is there a family discount?

Yes. With tunnels, a 3-person pack is €43.50 and a 4-person pack is €58 bought online in advance on Oct 17, 18, 24 and 25 (single tickets are €16.50 adults, €14.50 kids 2 to 12). The Halloween weekend (Oct 31 and Nov 1) costs more: packs €49.35 and €65.80. Buying on the day, online or at the box office, adds €1.50 per person. Under 2 go free.

What's the easiest way to get there?

Metro to Espanya (L1 or L3), then walk up past the Magic Fountain. Buses 13, 23 and 150 stop at Poble Espanyol, right by the entrance, if you'd rather skip the hill. Driving, the closest paid lots are Av. dels Montanyans and BSM Rius i Taulet.

Creepy Halloween Family takes over Poble Espanyol for six days, turning the village into a haunted one with 30 costumed characters, two mystery tunnels, live magic shows, games, a scavenger hunt and themed food truck areas. How scary it gets depends on when you go: the HAUNTED version (10am to 5pm) keeps the frights mild and is aimed at families with kids from about age 2, while the SCREAM version (from 5pm) turns up the intensity for kids 7 and over.
