Is the show in English?

No. It is in Catalan, the only language SAT! lists for these six shows. It is a musical, and the company promises ghosts, monsters, curses, music and dancing, so a kid still learning Catalan gets the songs, dance numbers and costumes even when the spoken jokes go by quickly.

Is it too scary for a 4-year-old?

The theater recommends it from age 4. There are ghosts, monsters and curses on stage, but it is a comedy musical, and the whole story is about a boy who is never frightened.

Is there a morning show?

Yes, on Sundays at noon (Nov 1 and Nov 8). Both Saturdays and both Sundays also have a 5:30pm show.

How do we buy tickets?

Online on the SAT! website, where each show lists how many seats are left, or at the theater. Tickets are €10.50 plus a booking fee.

About

Joan's parents have an unusual worry: their son has never been scared of anything. So they book a weekend in a haunted house through an adventure agency, hoping the ghosts, monsters and curses will finally teach him what fear feels like. What follows is a comic musical full of songs, dance numbers and spooky characters who can't quite rattle him. La Roda Produccions has been making family musicals in Catalan for 25 years, and this one was nominated for Best Family Musical at the Premios de Teatro Musical. The company bills it as terrifyingly fun, with the scares played for laughs.
