Question 1

Is it engaging for kids, or mostly reading?

Accepted Answer

It leans cerebral. There are striking things to look at: a replica of H.G. Wells's time machine, a wall of human-evolution skulls, an immersive black-hole projection, and cases of old clocks. But a lot of the content is panels exploring abstract ideas about time. Kids who like asking big questions will get a lot out of it; under-7s will mostly enjoy the visuals and may want to move quickly.

Question 2

Can we combine it with other things in Parc de la Ciutadella?

Accepted Answer

Easily. The Centre Martorell sits right inside the park, so you can fold in the playgrounds, a row on the boating lake, or the Barcelona Zoo next door. It's also a short walk from the Arc de Triomf and the El Born neighborhood for lunch afterward.

Question 3

How long does it take to get through?

Accepted Answer

Plan on about an hour. It's two rooms, so it's not overwhelming, and you can move at your own pace and leave whenever the kids are done.

Question 4

What's the best day to go for free entry?

Accepted Answer

Sundays after 3 PM are free, and so is the whole first Sunday of each month. If you want it quieter, aim for a weekday morning when it opens at 10.
