Is the Festival de la Infància happening in 2026?

It runs every year from December 27 to 31, but the 2026 dates, times and prices are not out yet. In 2025 it ran Dec 27 to 31 in two daily sessions, 10am to 3pm and 4pm to 9pm, with no afternoon session on Dec 31.

Do adults need a ticket too?

Yes. Everyone over 1 year old needs a ticket, adults included, and babies under 1 get in free. In 2025 a ticket was €10 at the door or €6.50 online in advance, and a family pack of 4 was €32, or €22 bought early.

Is it OK for babies and toddlers?

Yes. The Espai Mini is set aside for kids up to 4. There is a stroller parking area in that zone, but it is not supervised.

Is there food inside?

Yes. There are food trucks, picnic areas and several food stands inside the venue.

Do kids need to speak Catalan or Spanish?

No. The festival is run in Catalan and Spanish, but most of the play areas need no language at all.

About

The Festival de la Infància (Children's Festival) has been a Barcelona holiday tradition since 1963. In the days between Christmas and New Year, the giant halls of the Montjuïc fairgrounds turn into an indoor playground of more than 60 play areas, with games, sports, craft workshops and stage shows. Kids roam freely from zone to zone, and most activities need little language to join in. The Espai Mini is a gentler space for kids up to 4, while the Espai Aventura saves the bigger challenges for ages 4 to 12. On December 31, the whole festival counts down to New Year at noon, early enough for the little ones.
