Just show up. There's no advance booking; sign-ups happen at the garden on the day. The guided workshops are first-come, first-served, so arriving close to 11:30 AM gives you the best shot at the activity you want.

What's the best way to get there?

Take metro line 2 or 3 to Paral·lel, then the Funicular de Montjuïc up to Parc de Montjuïc, and walk about 10 minutes to the botanical garden entrance. Bus 150 also stops nearby. The garden has paid parking, but it fills up fast on weekends.

Is this better for older kids or will my 4-year-old be bored?

It works for both, but the free play area is where younger kids shine. The guided workshops are more engaging if your kid can follow instructions for 20-30 minutes. If your 4-year-old likes getting dirty, exploring plants, and doing simple crafts, they'll have a good time in the open play section.

The website doesn't post rain cancellations, so check with the organizers at 932564170 (Monday and Wednesday 9am-1pm, Friday 3:30pm-7:30pm) or email info@amicsjbb.org the day before if the forecast looks bad. Some activities like leaf stamping can still run under cover, but outdoor exploration obviously can't.
