Question 1

How much does it cost to ride?

Accepted Answer

The fair is free to enter, and you pay per ride. Prices are not listed on the official site, so show up ready to ask at the ticket booth. Funfair rides in Barcelona tend to run 2 to 5 euros each, varying by ride.

Question 2

Is this worth going to on a random weeknight, or should we wait for the main festa?

Accepted Answer

If your kids are young and you want a calmer crowd, the early dates (August 7 to 14) are less packed. For the full festival feel with the decorated streets a short walk uphill, go during August 15 to 21, when the whole neighborhood is in festa mode. The rides stay open until 2am those nights, so evenings get livelier as they go.

Question 3

How long should we plan to spend there?

Accepted Answer

Two to three hours is solid for most families. That gives kids time to hit 4 to 6 rides without burning through your budget or their attention span. If you want to browse the artisan fairs at Plaça de la Virreina (from August 14) or Plaça del Diamant (from August 15) too, add another hour.

Question 4

Is there food at the fair, or should we eat before?

Accepted Answer

Funfairs always have snack stands with churros, popcorn, and drinks, so nobody goes hungry. Prices carry the usual fair markup, and the streets around Diagonal have plenty of cafes if you want a proper meal before or after.
