Last year the Via Augusta site had bumper cars, trampolines, a roller coaster gentle enough for small kids, game booths and food stalls. It is much the same mix as the Festa Major de Gràcia funfair in August, without a Ferris wheel. The organizers do not publish a list, so the lineup can change from year to year.

When is the fair open?

October 2 to 18. Monday to Friday it opens from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Saturdays run 11:00am to 2:00pm and again from 5:00pm to midnight. Sundays run 11:00am to 2:00pm and again from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. On the two festa Fridays, October 2 and 9, it stays open until midnight. It shuts over lunch on weekends, so a 3:00pm visit finds the rides closed.

Where are the two sites, and which train stop is closest?

Sarrià has no metro, so take the FGC train. Porta de Sarrià is on Via Augusta where it meets Passeig de la Bonanova, marked by a tall steel gate sculpture. It is between the Benjamin Franklin International School and Sarrià station (L6, L12, S1, S2), about 5 minutes on foot from the station and a couple of minutes from Plaça de Sarrià. Plaça de Cirici Pellicer is the square next to the Caputxins de Sarrià church, about 8 minutes on foot from Reina Elisenda (L12) and about 10 from Sarrià station. Walking in is free and you pay per ride at each booth. The organizers do not publish prices, so check the price board at each ride before your kid climbs on.

Porta de Sarrià, on Via Augusta, is the one we know: it had the bumper cars, trampolines and small roller coaster last year, and it sits beside the festa's main squares, so it pairs well with the family mornings on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. The program does not say what is at Plaça de Cirici Pellicer, which is away from the festa streets, by the church in the lower part of Sarrià.

When is the neighborhood at its fullest?

The festa's big family days are Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, and the fire run is on the night of Saturday, October 10, so those are the days with the most people in Sarrià. Weekday sessions are the short after-school slot, 5:00pm to 8:00pm. From October 13 to 18 the festa is over and only the fair is left.
