What you need to know

  • Two fire runs back-to-back, so families can choose their kids' comfort level and stay for both.
  • Dress for sparks: cotton clothing, long sleeves, covered shoulders, and closed shoes (no flip-flops) for kids who want to get close; spectators at the edge need less.
  • Outdoor street procession, no tickets or reservations needed; just show up along the route.

About

Every festa in Catalonia ends with fire, and Gràcia closes its biggest week the family way: a correfoc scaled down for children. Small devils run the length of Gran de Gràcia under fountains of gentler sparks, drummers behind them, crowds cheering from the edges. It is loud, bright, and very Catalan, and because the route is long and open you can join for as much or as little as your kids can take. The grown-up version follows later the same night for families whose older kids want the full blaze.
