Is this actually good for kids, or is it mostly for adult crafters?

It's genuinely mixed, which is the point. There are dedicated family activities and kids' workshops alongside serious crafter stuff, so younger kids won't be bored but also won't be the main focus. Bring kids who like making things or watching people make things, not kids who need constant entertainment.

Can we just browse for free, or do we have to pay to get in?

Entry is free (with 1€ register fee), but you should consider paying for the 10€ VIP ticket to guarantee entry. Once inside, you can walk around the exhibitors and soak up the atmosphere without spending anything. Workshops, masterclasses, and food cost extra, but just looking at the stalls and live music is completely free.
