We have younger kids. Is this the right night out for them?

It works best for older children and teens who can sit through a two-hour jazz set. The rooftop, Gaudí's attic and the view over Barcelona are a thrill for kids of any age, but the music is the main event and the seating is fixed, so under-10s may get restless. If your kids love exploring architecture and are happy listening to live music, they'll enjoy it; if they need to move around, this is a tougher fit.

Parking on Passeig de Gràcia is hard to find on Friday nights. If you're driving, use a paid garage nearby, like the one under Plaça de Catalunya about 10 minutes away, and budget 20-25 euros.

Is there food, or just the cava?

A glass of cava is included, but there's no food service on the rooftop. Have dinner in the city beforehand, and bring water if you're going on a hot July evening.

About

Jazz on La Pedrera's rooftop, played by young musicians from the Conservatori del Liceu, Taller de Músics and ESMUC. You start with a self-guided walk through Gaudí's attic, then take your seats on the roof as the sun sets over the chimneys. This year's acts include Mingus Reunion, the Peñaranda-Garrido Quartet, Eclipse Group and the AMJM Young Talent Award winner.
