Is this just sitting and reading about buildings, or do kids get to make things?

Kids get to experiment with materials and play games, not just flip through books. There's an educator there to guide them, so it's hands-on. Bring a 3 or 4 year old and they'll have something to touch and move around with.

How long should we plan to stay?

CaixaForum plans the session around an hour. It's not a full afternoon on its own, so pair it with the Magic Fountain area, the gardens, or a playground nearby on Montjuïc if you want a longer outing.

Do we need to book ahead or can we just show up?

Just show up. There's no booking, and entry is free until the space reaches capacity. Kids need an adult with them at all times.

Is there parking at CaixaForum?

There are paid public garages around Plaça d'Espanya and the Fira, a few minutes' walk away.
