Entry to CaixaForum is walk-up, but some activities like the theremin workshop and Maga Patricia's sessions fill up fast on event nights. Check the CaixaForum website closer to the date to see which ones need reservations. Aluzina (the light show) is ticketed separately at €6, so grab those in advance if you want to be sure.

Is this mostly standing around watching, or can the kids get hands-on?

There's plenty to do: Maga Patricia runs a hands-on magic workshop, the theremin workshop lets kids make noise with their hands (no touching required), and close-up magicians work the floors so you can stop and watch whenever. The giant tulle figures just wander around, so it's more of a "spot them" thing. It's not a sit-down show night.

How long should we plan to stay?

You could do 90 minutes and hit the main stuff, but if your kids want to try multiple workshops or linger with the close-up magicians, budget 2.5 to 3 hours. The venue doesn't get crowded until after 8pm, so arriving right at 6pm gives you breathing room to explore without feeling rushed.

My 4-year-old gets bored easily. Will they make it through the evening?

Maga Patricia's workshop is designed for kids 3 and up and keeps things moving, so that's your best bet for holding attention. The roaming magicians and tulle figures are quick hits that don't require sitting still. Skip Aluzina if your kid needs constant action; it's more of a theatrical experience and better for kids 6 and up who can sit with a concept.
