Do we need to register in advance, or can we just show up?

Register ahead. It's free but required. Most activities also need their own booking in the venue's system, so book a few days ahead for the workshops or shows your kids want.

Is this just for kids who already love drawing, or can anyone join?

Anyone can join. The whole festival is about how music and sound turn into images, so even if your kid has never picked up a pencil, the workshops and performances will make sense and be fun.

How long should we plan to stay?

You can drop in for a single activity (1-2 hours) or spend a whole afternoon on several workshops and the exhibition. Since it's spread across Friday evening and all day Saturday, you can pick what fits your family's energy and schedule.

Is the venue easy to get to with kids?

Yes. It's a civic center a short walk from the metro, fully indoors, with toilets and stroller access.

What you need to know

Music becomes pictures: kids illustrate what they hear in real time.
No drawing experience needed: workshops meet beginners where they are.
Third edition: an established festival, not a one-off experiment.

About

Il·luLola is a festival of children's illustration, and this third edition is built around music. Illustrators and musicians lead workshops, live performances and an exhibition that show how sound, rhythm and feelings turn into pictures. Kids draw and make things as they go. None of it needs drawing experience, so it suits beginners as much as kids who already fill sketchbooks.
