Do we need to book, or can we just show up?

Book ahead. Entry is free but each Centre Cívic takes prior reservations for its own date, and these neighborhood shows fill quickly, so reserve through the center hosting the date you want.

There are five dates in different places, which one do we go to?

Pick whichever center is closest to home. It's the same show at Zona Nord, La Sedeta in Gràcia, Baró de Viver, Lluïsos d'Horta and La Teixonera, and the venues are spread right across the city, so there's no single main location.

Does my kid need Catalan to follow it?

No. The show is built around a chain-reaction machine and juggling, so it's carried by what you see rather than what's said.

I took my kids and wife and it was delightful! The kids were entertained for the entire hour, and my wife and I enjoyed the really fantastic juggling and diabolo act. It's a great example of the hard-to-find yet wonderful performances hosted at Barcelona's civic centers.

What you need to know

Mostly visual, no words needed, the chain-reaction machine and light-juggling carry the whole show
Sneaky physics lesson, dominoes and flying objects spark a steady stream of "wait, how did that work?"
Rewards a little patience, the machine builds slowly on stage, so it lands best around age 6 and up

About

Two engineer-performers build a Rube Goldberg machine on stage, one piece at a time, and set it off between juggling routines. Dominoes fall, objects fly, and each chain reaction shows a bit of physics at work. It's mostly visual, so it suits kids who like watching how things work, as long as they have the patience to wait while the machine is built.
