Upcoming: Sant Jordi: Meet Children's Book Authors on Las Ramblas

Sant Jordi is one of the most delightful times to be in Barcelona with people on every corner selling roses and books (the traditional gift). Kids love the story of Sant Jordi (St George) and the drac (dragon), though my kids learned a much tamer version where the two are friends.
Book stalls and rose vendors fill the city's main streets for the day. Children's-book authors hold signings, families exchange books and roses, and bookstores and libraries run dragon-themed crafts and storytelling tied to the Saint George legend. Schools host reading events and rose-making activities throughout the day.
More family picks, Friday to Sunday.
