Will my 8-year-old sleep, or be too scared?

Most kids this age do sleep, but it depends on your child. The two staff monitors stay with them the whole time, and they're used to managing nervous kids. If your child gets anxious in the dark or around animals, this might be too much; if they're curious and handle new situations well, they'll probably be fine. The "Shark Investigators" game before bed helps them feel like explorers rather than scared guests.

What do I need to pack, and what's provided?

You bring sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas, slippers, toiletries, a change of clothes, and a lantern. The aquarium provides dinner, breakfast, and all the supervision. Don't forget the lantern: kids use it during the night exploration, and it makes the whole thing feel less creepy. Some parents say they wish they'd brought an extra blanket because it gets cool at night.
