Question 1

Do we need to book in advance or can we just show up?

Accepted Answer

You need to reserve ahead, but it's free. Reservations open May 6 at 6pm on the museum's ticketing site. Since there are only three time slots (6pm, 7pm, 8pm), book early if you have a preference.

Question 2

Is this just standing around looking at old stuff, or is it interactive?

Accepted Answer

It's a guided tour where you hunt through the exhibition rooms looking for pieces connected to constellations and planets, so kids are actively searching rather than passively listening. It's more engaging than a standard museum walk, but still expect some standing and looking.

Question 3

How long does it actually take?

Accepted Answer

Each session runs about an hour (sessions start on the hour at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm). Plan for 60 minutes, give or take a few minutes for the introduction and questions at the end.

Question 4

Is Tarragona worth the drive from Barcelona?

Accepted Answer

If you're already in Tarragona or nearby, absolutely. It's about 1.5 hours from Barcelona by car or train, so it's a day trip, not a quick outing. Pair it with other Tarragona activities (beach, Roman sites) to make the drive worthwhile.
