How do we get there from Barcelona?

By car it's about 45 minutes via the C-16 autopista (exit 41 for Sant Vicenç de Castellet). If you're taking the train, the RENFE R4 line stops directly at Sant Vicenç de Castellet station, or the FGC R5 from Plaça Espanya goes to Sant Vicenç-Castellgalí. The town is small, so once you arrive it's walkable to the fair.

Is this better for older kids or can younger ones enjoy it too?

It depends on your kid's attention span. There are traditional games, street performers, and an artisan market that younger kids find engaging, but a lot of the appeal is the historical context and period shows, which land better with kids 4 and up. If your 2-year-old gets bored easily, you might spend more time managing them than enjoying it.
