Question 1

How far is Móra la Nova from Barcelona, and is it worth the drive?

Accepted Answer

It's about 150km southwest, roughly 2 hours by car. If your kids are old enough to sit through a drive and you're looking for a full day out, yes. The whole town turns out for the festival, so you get a small-town fiesta you won't get in the city. Pack snacks for the car and plan to stay at least 4-5 hours to hit the main events.

Question 2

What's good for kids under 6?

Accepted Answer

The foam party, water activities at the pool, and the children's shows with clowns and performers are solid for that age. The giant procession is fun to watch from the sidelines, but it's long and loud, so bring a stroller or plan to leave early. Skip the fire runs entirely if your kid gets spooked by crowds or noise.

Question 3

Is there food and drink available, or should we bring our own?

Accepted Answer

It's a small town festival, so there will be food stalls and bars set up, but don't expect the variety you'd get at a big city event. Bring water and snacks for the kids, especially if you're going during the hot afternoon hours in late July or early August. Eating before you arrive is a safe bet if your kids are picky.

Question 4

What if it's very hot?

Accepted Answer

The water activities and pool workshops are the easiest way to beat the heat, so plan your day around those. Bring sunscreen, hats, and a change of clothes if your kids will be getting wet. The evening events like the concerts and fireworks are much more comfortable once the sun goes down.
