Name: Witches' Market and Fire Shows in Altafulla's Old Quarter
Start: 2026-06-26
End: 2026-06-27T23:59:59
Location: Vila Closa, barri antic d'Altafulla

Question 1

How far is Altafulla from Barcelona, and is it worth the trip?

Accepted Answer

It's about an hour to an hour and fifteen by car or train, so it's a half-day commitment. If your kids love the witch theme or you want to pair it with a beach afternoon on the Costa Daurada, it's a great day out; for just an evening, find something closer to home.

Question 2

Can we get there by train without a car?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Hourly Rodalies trains run from Barcelona-Sants to Altafulla-Tamarit in about an hour. The station sits right by the beach, then it's a 15-20 minute walk uphill into the old town where the festival happens, so easy strollers are fine but a carrier is better for toddlers.

Question 3

What's the vibe like at night, and is it good for younger kids?

Accepted Answer

It's a family festival with a playful, slightly spooky atmosphere rather than anything genuinely scary, but expect crowds and late hours. The fire acts can be loud and startling, so it suits a 6-year-old who likes a bit of excitement more than a 3-year-old who tires early.

Question 4

Can we make a beach day of it?

Accepted Answer

Definitely. Altafulla has a long sandy beach right by the train station, so you can spend the afternoon there and head up into the Vila Closa as the festival gets going in the evening. Bring a change of clothes and something warm for after sunset.
