My kid is 4. Will they get anything out of this or is it too literary?

There's a dedicated reading space for early childhood with librarians and books picked for that age, plus storytelling sessions for younger kids. If your 4-year-old needs constant movement and snacks, the writing and poetry workshops will feel long for them. The performing arts pieces suit them most.

What if my kid hates sitting still for storytelling but likes making things?

Skip the oral sessions and go straight for the workshops in writing, poetry, and visual arts. There are also performing arts pieces that are shorter and more active than a 30-minute story. You can pick and choose; it's not a sit-down-for-three-hours kind of event.

What you need to know

Three venues across the city: start at CCCB, and add on MACBA or Can Fabra.
Hands-on workshops: writing and visual arts, not passive viewing; kids leave with something made.
Librarian-led reading spaces: books curated by theme, so you skip the guesswork on what to read next.

About

Món Llibre, the city's children's book festival, takes space as its theme this year, inspired by the playful writing of Georges Perec. Kids can hear stories told aloud, join writing, poetry and visual arts workshops, catch live performances, curl up in two reading nooks stocked with handpicked books, and wander an exhibition built to be explored.
