What is there for kids?

In 2025 the program included a Caga Tió for kids to beat for sweets, craft workshops, a hot chocolate afternoon and a quieter, sensory-friendly Tió session. The 2026 program usually comes out in late November.

What is there to eat?

Escudella (Catalan meat-and-vegetable stew) cooked over the bonfire, hot chocolate with coca, and toasted bread with toppings, plus pastry stalls piled with borregos and nougat. The old town also has cafes and restaurants a couple of minutes' walk away.

Will a stroller work?

The fair spreads through flat pedestrian streets and squares, so a stroller rolls fine, but it draws thousands of visitors and the lanes between stalls get tight. A carrier is easier for the smallest kids.

How cold does it get?

It is all outdoors and Cardedeu sits inland, so evenings run colder than in Barcelona. Dress kids in layers and a hat; the bonfire in Plaça de Sant Corneli is the place to warm up.

About

For one weekend in mid-December, Cardedeu's old town fills with around 200 stalls. The star is the town's own nougat, torró de borrego, made from the crunchy anise biscuits that only Cardedeu's bakeries make. At the heart of the fair burns the Foc de la Fira, a ring bonfire that stays lit all weekend and slowly cooks huge pots of escudella stew. Kids get a Caga Tió to beat.
