Do we need to sign up for anything?

Not to get in. Some tournaments and special activities need registration, through the Tournaments and Activities page on the festival website once sign-ups open.

Is there somewhere quieter if my kid gets overwhelmed?

Yes. DAU Tranquil is a calmer space for highly sensitive people, with limited capacity, its own entrance and trained staff.

Can we buy the games we try?

Yes. Specialist shops at the festival sell the games on the tables, and in the Fandom Zone you can get some signed by their designers.

Is anything open on Thursday or Friday?

The family festival is Saturday and Sunday. On Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 8pm there is Ludoteca Expert on the ground floor of the Fàbrica de Creació, aimed at experienced players.

DAU Barcelona is the city's big board game festival. The old Fabra i Coats thread factory fills with game tables where guides teach new games, so families can sit down and start playing. Younger kids have their own space, Dauet, run by children's game publishers. Elsewhere there are traditional Catalan games, role-playing tables, and DAU Tranquil, a calmer space with its own entrance for kids who find crowds hard.
