Can we buy a tió there?

Yes, the crafts stalls sell tions in every size, along with the sticks. In past editions, sales at the exhibition went to the Rebost Solidari del Solsonès food bank.

Solsona sits inland at about 650m, so early December is cold, and colder again once it gets dark. Bring hats, gloves and a warm layer for kids if you stay into the evening.

Solsona's old town spends one day on the tió, the Catalan Christmas log that kids feed through December and then hit with sticks at Christmas until it "poops" presents. Local families lend their hollow logs for an exhibition, artisans sell crafts and food in the squares, and the program fills out with family workshops, kids' shows, contests and live music. A good first taste of the tradition for kids new to it.
