How do we get there from Barcelona?

About an hour by car. By train, the R11 regional from Sants takes 1h20 (direct) to 2h20 (all stops), and the high-speed AVE or Avant takes under 40 minutes. Girona station is about a 10-minute walk from Devesa Park.

Can we see the fire run and still take the train home?

No. The last R11 back leaves Girona at 9:23pm on Saturdays and holidays (9:19pm on weekdays), before the 10:30pm fire run and the evening concerts. Drive, check the later high-speed trains, or stay the night.

Do the rides cost extra?

Walking around and the street events are free. The rides in Devesa Park are paid per ride, as at any funfair, and food and craft market purchases are extra.

What can we do on a Saturday day trip?

On Saturday the 24th, catch the Tronada firecracker show at noon in Plaça de Catalunya, wander the rides in Devesa Park, then the human towers at 6pm in Plaça de Sant Feliu. Sunday the 25th has the big human-tower day at 11:30am in Plaça del Vi.

A big amusement park takes over Devesa Park, the old town fills with parades, human towers and fire runs, and stages for concerts and street shows pop up in every neighborhood. Food fairs and craft markets round it out, so families can wander and set their own pace.
