What you need to know
- Nothing to book: almost every session runs the whole slot, so you can walk in any time and hop between two nearby venues
- Pick sessions tagged family or all ages: a few, like the comic relay and the Pedralbes monastery, are listed for young people and adults
- Free sessions inside big museums like the Picasso, MACBA and the Miró, an easy first visit with a pencil in hand
About
Barcelona Dibuixa is the city's yearly drawing festival, now in its 17th edition. For one weekend, more than 40 museums, libraries and civic centers host sessions led by working illustrators and comic artists: collage, comics, self-portraits, giant shared drawings. No drawing skill needed. Most sessions are drop-in, so you can string two or three together, and many build one big group piece that kids add to alongside adults.
