The family activities (storytelling, the Eclipsi show, the plant-swap workshop) run at specific times between 11am and 5pm, so you'll want to time your visit around whichever ones appeal to your kid. If your child isn't into art or performance, one show plus a walk around the gardens is probably enough.

You need to reserve your free entry online beforehand, so plan ahead. The paid "Solstici Sert" activity at sunrise (6am) has its own separate reservation if you're interested, but everything else is first-come, first-served once you're inside. No extra reservations needed for the performances and workshops.

How do we get there by metro and is there parking?

Take the red line (L2) to Paral·lel, then the funicular up to Montjuïc. It's about a 10-minute walk from there to the Foundation. If you're driving, there's paid parking at the Montjuïc car park, but metro is honestly easier on a day when the whole hill will be busy.

Will there be food and drinks inside, or should we pack a picnic?

The Foundation has a café, but it's small and will probably be packed. Bring snacks and water, especially if you're coming with young kids who get hungry fast. The gardens have some shaded spots if you want to sit down.
