Upcoming: Home dels Nassos Parades on New Year's Eve

Catalan kids grow up with a New Year's riddle: on December 31 you can meet the Home dels Nassos, the man with as many noses as there are days left in the year. The joke is that on the last day he has only one, like everybody else. In Barcelona he is a real character: a big-headed capgròs figure who comes out on the morning of December 31 with musicians and other festival figures, parades through the streets and hands over a magic key to open the new year. The city center, Gràcia and Poblenou each have their own.
