Besides the big parade downtown, about twenty Barcelona neighborhoods welcome the Reis, the Three Kings, with a Cavalcada of their own. The floats are smaller and often homemade, many of the patges (royal helpers) are neighbors, and some areas add their own twist: the Kings arrive by train in Sant Andreu, and Gràcia has a parade of Carteres Reials, royal mail carriers. For little kids these are often the better pick. Routes are short, crowds are thinner, and there is a good chance of a wave from a king and a handful of sweets without a long wait.
