The 2026 Christmas program is not out yet; the museum posted the 2025 one in late November. In 2025 the royal page collected letters Dec 22, 23 and 27 to 30 and Jan 2 to 5, 11am to 1:30pm.

What else is on at Christmas?

In 2025 there was a virtual reality Christmas ride inside the historic Talgo II train from Dec 6 to Jan 5, and a crafts day on Sun Dec 21, 10am to 2pm, with creative stations and actors. Both were booked online.

Museum entry is €8.50 for adults, €6 for ages 5 to 17 and free under 5. A €5 rate covers families, over-60s and everyone on Sundays from noon. The VR ride is an extra added to your ticket.

When is the museum open?

Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 2:30pm, plus Saturday afternoons from 4pm to 7pm. It is closed on Mondays, and Christmas hours can change, so check before you go.

Is it good for little kids?

Yes. Toddlers love walking among the giant locomotives, and there are play areas inside and outside. The page visit is short and gentle.

In Catalonia, children write their Christmas wish lists to the Three Kings, the Reis, who bring presents on the night of January 5. In the days before, the Kings send their royal pages, the patges reials, to collect the letters, and handing one over in person is a big moment for small kids. At the Railway Museum of Catalonia, a royal page sets up among real steam locomotives in an old engine shed, so the letter drop comes with a morning of exploring historic trains. At Christmas there is also a virtual reality ride inside a vintage Talgo train, from Santa's workshop to the Kings' journey.
