What you need to know

  • Five days, multiple entry points, so you can drop in for an hour or stay all afternoon.
  • Separate kids' fire run, gentler pacing and smaller flames than the adult correfoc.
  • Closing fireworks run late, the piromusical starts around 10pm, so plan a nap or a second wind.

About

Barcelona's patron-saint festival runs five days with free concerts, street theatre, castellers (human towers), correfocs (fire runs), parades of gegants and capgrossos, and a closing piromusical at the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. Mercè Petita offers dedicated children's workshops, family theatre, and circus; the gegants parade and daytime castellers in Plaça Sant Jaume suit small kids, and a separate Correfoc Infantil provides a gentler fire-run experience.
