It is one of Olot's most popular events and draws visitors from across Catalonia, so expect crowds along the route in the center. A carrier is easier than a stroller for small kids.

Can we get there without a car?

There is no train to Olot. Coaches from Barcelona run to Olot bus station, a short walk from the old town.

What else can we do in Olot with kids that weekend?

Olot sits inside the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. Pair the festival with a daytime walk up the Montsacopa volcano, right on the edge of town.

About

Lluèrnia turns the old town of Olot, the city of volcanoes, into a night walk of light and fire art. Families wander from square to square past glowing sculptures, projections and flame pieces, many built by local schoolkids. It suits kids who are happy to stay out after dark and walk at an easy pace. This is the festival's 15th and final edition.
