What you need to know
- Christmas trains for little kids in Prosperitat (€3) from December 19, and in Nou Barris (under-12s €1) and La Verneda from December 22
- Toy and traditional games fair on the Barceloneta waterfront, free, December 5 to 8, 12pm to 8:30pm
- Caga Tió and the Kings at Sants: in 2025 the Sants fair had a Tió on December 23 and 24 and visits from the Three Kings on January 2 to 4
About
Beyond the big fair by the cathedral, almost every Barcelona neighborhood puts on its own Christmas fair in December, run by local shopkeepers and residents. The stalls are smaller and friendlier: crafts, toys, decorations and sweets, often with a Caga Tió for kids to beat, hot chocolate, and a royal page, one of the Three Kings' messengers, collecting letters. Some barris add their own extras, from a toy and traditional games fair on the Barceloneta waterfront to carol singing in the streets. Little kids also love the Christmas trains, small road trains that loop through the neighborhood so shoppers can ride past the lights.
